NBA Summer League: Jonathan Kuminga leads Warriors to victory - Oscar da Silva Glinmas
Jonathan Kuminga has led the Golden State Warriors to the Summer League in Las Vegas for the first victory - despite problems with his degree. Evan Mobley wins the duel with Jalen Suggs, Franz Wagner shows up improved and a German Big shines for the OKC Thunder.
Orlando Magic (1-1) - Cleveland Cavaliers (1-1) 84:94
Points: Jalen Suggs (16) - Isaac Okoro (15)
Rebounds: Jalen Suggs (8) - Evan Mobley and Lamar Stevens (7)
Assists: Jalen Suggs (5) - Evan Mobley (6)
No.3-Pick Evan Mobley introduced his versatility in his second appearance in Las Vegas. 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists were in the end on his account, but he had struggled to fight with endpoints (5/15 FG) just like his debut. On the way to the first victory in the Summer League, Isaac Okoro (15) or Trevon Bluiett (14, 4/6 threesome) showed good performance.
For the Magic, Jalen Suggs was the best actor who performed his team with 16 meters, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in all major categories - and a crashing putback-dunk sinked.
Otherwise, D.J. Hogg (15) and Franz Wagner (10) The only magic actors with a double-digit dot yield. The German hit after a mixed debut after all 4 of his 7 throw tests (1/3 threesome) and collected 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal (at 1 Turnover).
Golden State Warriors (1-1) - Toronto Raptors (1-1) 90:84
Points: Jonathan Kuminga (18) - Malachi Flynn (16)
Rebounds: Jaquori McLaughlin (7) - Dalano Banton (12)
Assists: Jaquori McLaughlin (6) - Dalano Banton (3)
This was not necessarily what Jonathan Kuminga showed against the Raptors, but the potential of the number7 picks flashed several times. With 18 points (4 rebounds and 2 steals), he led the Warriors to victory and convinced with Defense, Shooting (3/6 threesome) and isolated Post Moves.
But at all, Kuminga had great difficulties with the degree. Ultimately, only 5 of his 17 attempts found the way through the Reuse, he made 6 turnover. Also Moses Moody did not caught his efficient day (14 points, 4/15 FG and 3/7 threesome).
To win against the Raptors, it was still enough for Golden State with good shooting in the second quarter. The exclamation marks Gary Payton II with a poster hammer. Although Scottie Barnes tried to stop thinking, but he was also missing the throwing luck (13 points and 8 rebounds, 2/8 FG, 8/12 FT). Best Raptor was Malachi Flynn with 16 meters, two-round Pick Dalano Banton (10 and 12 rebounds) and Precious Achiuwa (13 and 11) each put on a double double.
New Orleans Pelicans (2-0) - Oklahoma City Thunder (1-1) 80:65
Points: Naji Marshall (18) - Aaron Wiggins (16)
Rebounds: Naji Marshall (11) - Tre Man (6)
Assists: Kira Lewis Jr. (5) - TRE MAN (7)
It was certainly not nice to look at that, the Pelicans made the lid on the victory with a dominant second half - even because OKC once again met 33.3 percent out of the field. Especially Theo Maledon (5, 2/11 FG) and Tre Man (12, 4/15 FG) had such problems.
It ran better on Nr.55-Pick Aaron Wiggins, who led his team with 16 points (7/16 FG, but 1/7 threesome) and also at Oscar da Silva. The German once again showed a proper idea and set up 11 meters (4/5 FG and 2/2 threesome) as well as 5 rebounds in 14 minutes of use.
On the part of the Pels, Naji Marshall (18 and 11 Rebounds) and Kira Lewis Jr. (12 and 5 Assists) emerge positively. Stranded Pick Trey Murphy held back after his strong debut (10, 6 rebounds and 3 steals).
Memphis Grizzlies (1-1) - Miami Heat (2-0) 94:97 2ot
Points: Sean McDermott and Ziaire Williams (19) - Max Strus (32)
Rebounds: John Konchar (11) - Omer Yurtseven (11)
Assists: Xavier Tillman (7) - Dejon Jarreau (10)
In the Summer League it goes in the second overtime to the Sudden Death. Max Strus, the outstanding man of the game (32 points and 9 rebounds, 7/17 threesome) do not taped long. He grabbed the tip-off, walking forward, took the threesome and finished the game after 10 seconds in the second OT freezing. You can do it like that!
