Adler Mannheim and Red Bull Munich start successfully in Champions Hockey League
The Adler Mannheim were launched with a victory in the new season of the Champions Hockey League. The eight-fold German ice hockey master won on Thursday at the outsider Cardiff Devils 5: 0 (3: 0, 1: 0, 1: 0, 0: 0). The gates for the Mannheimer achieved Jordan Szzerz (1.), Joonas Lehivuori (10th), Moritz Wirth (11th), Borna Rendulic (31.) and Andrew Desjardin (44.). On Saturday, the second game in Group C is at Lukko Rauma in Finland.
Munich also gains clear
Red Bull Munich also celebrated a clear starting victory. The Munich won on Thursday evening 5: 1 (1: 1, 1: 0, 3: 0) at Sonderjyske Vojens from Denmark. The results scored Trevor Parkes (9th), Patrick Hager (40th), Frederik Tiffels (49.), Daryl Boyle (53.) and Yannic Seidenberg (60th).
The first two teams of the total of eight groups reach the secondary final. Last season, the Champions Hockey League had failed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The German Hockey League starts with the opening match on 9 September between the Eisbären Berlin and Red Bull Munich. The Mannheimer start a day later at the Straubing Tigers.
