New Windows Update should fix performance problems in gaming
With the latest update, Microsoft wants to fix gamern problems in Windows 10. These include framedrops and strange ingame behavior.
Microsoft had already published a large update in April 2021 to fix performance problems with Windows 10. Nevertheless, some users still complain about existing problems if they want to play reasonably (via reddit.com):
- A few users complain about framescences and abnormal rendering errors.
- Other people are annoyed by bluescreens that they continue to have gambling or after the latest update.
That's happened now: With the update of by Yast week (KB5004237), Microsoft has already held some mistakes, but above all the frames are still a problem.
Now coming week another update will come to get the last problems with the grip on which users complain.
Who is concerned? It is not clear how many players are affected by the problems. For example, WindowsLatest.com explains that the problem should not be so widespread (via WindowsLatest.com). However, there are probably some of Windows versions such as Windows 10 Version 21h1 and Version 20h2.
Next week comes Windows Update, wants to solve the last problem
When is the update? According to Microsoft, the update should appear next to the upcoming patchday. This is Tuesday, July 27, 2021.
If you are currently suffering from performance problems, then you should definitely consider installing the update. Basically, we advise you anyway to always install all important updates. Because this ensures a secure operating system.
Is there an alternative solution? If you suffer from mentioned problems, then a small setting helps under Windows.
To do this, select "Power Options" to Windows. Usually, the setting "balanced" is marked here and recommended by Windows.
Do you currently have problems, then you can change your energy plan to "maximum performance". That should solve some problems. "Ultimate Performance" is also a way to improve performance.

To enable the energy-saving plan: First, you will open the Control Panel. Here you choose the item "Hardware and Sound" and then the point "Energy Options". Alternatively, you simply search "energy options" in the Windows 10 Start menu and lands directly in the corresponding menu.
The Ultimate Performance option is only available from Windows 10 Version 17083.
With the last update, Microsoft has adjusted the energy options so that your settings are also used in Game Mode and not lost.
But there are also positive news for gamers who play on Windows 10. Because one of the best gaming features, which had been traded exclusively for Windows 11, now comes to Windows 10. This is likely to look forward to many users who do not want to change to the new version.
