PlayStation 5: Consoles are no longer with loss sale

Especially for the start of a new console generation, manufacturers such as Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo, mostly losses through each sold console retract and rely on good software sales to achieve profits is an open secret. Also, the PlayStation 5 published by Sony in November last year was no exception.

During the Quarterly Business Conference of Sony, CFO Hiroki Totoki announced that the sales of a PlayStation 5 with drive (499 euros) no longer associated with losses for the company. Although this is still the case with the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition (399 euros), it could be balanced by other hardware sales such as the PlayStation 4 or peripherals.
