What does "presented by Xbox Game Pass"?
You've certainly already noticed that this time there is another difference to the past theme weeks: We have this time a partner in the form of Microsoft with the Xbox Game Pass. Here I want to explain to you briefly what exactly means - and what not.
What does "presented by Xbox Game Pass"? In the core it says that you find a widget next to our articles, which indicates the cooperation and leads you back to this chic review article and a few other articles from the theme week. In addition, there will be a few (clearly marked) Advertorials and the chance to win an Xbox Series S including Xbox Game Pass.
What does the sponsoring does not mean? It does not mean that all articles were bought under the hero * inner banner of Microsoft or somehow influenced. Advertorials (so paid items) carry this week, as usual, always the addition [display] in the heading and are clearly marked as advertising. They are also not written by the editorial team of Gamepro.de or from freelancers who contribute editorial texts to this theme week.
What about articles involving Microsoft (characters)? If an item is not explicitly marked with [Display], the sponsoring has no effect or influence on the article - no matter if it's about the master Chief, Ellie or Link goes. Also on articles in which we talked to developers who worked for or with Microsoft work, neither the publisher nor the cooperation had any influence.
Why do we do that? Theme weeks are usually very complex. They eat a lot of time, both in planning and implementation and always come "on top" to our normal daily business (news, specials, tests, etc.). Therefore, we are very often braked in what we would like to do and what is realistic for us feasible. In addition, the question is always the question "Is this article worth this for us?" in the room. A sponsoring takes away part of this pressure.
It allows us to bring topics to the site, which may only be interested in a small part of our readers or appeals to certain niches. In addition, we have the opportunity to commission even more cool items for you with our freelancers and to have an excuse to write about things, for which maybe no place in everyday life. In short: We can create more cool content for you. Any questions about the theme week? Wish what would you like to see or what hero * you expect? Write it to us in the comments!
